Poetry and Chess

Poetry and chess are the best vices that I have around
Both of them effectively prevent me from feeling down
When feeling like I'm going to drown, they're my lifesavers
If Darth Vader was my father, they'd be my light sabers

I savor the flavor of them as my neighbors and close friends
Had I not gotten exposed to them my story may have already end
I compose with a pen with the intent of becoming one of the best
Then strategize like an experienced general whenever I play chess

I reduce my stress when I invest my valuable time into them
Swimming in shark infested waters have helped me find gems
Some the size of jumbo shrimp and others as huge as King Kong
Channeling negativity into creativity is how I keep on moving along
