Olympian With A Pen

I won't allow myself to be boxed in when I use my pen
Poetry is a reflection of the many facets that I have within
I don't and won't ever pretend to be a saint for I can't be fake
If you don't deposit any other coinage, you can take that to the bank

I'd rather walk the plank and sink to the bottom of the deepest ocean
Before ever selling myself short just to purport what'll help me fit in
I'm a gentleman who knows how to dive within to obtain some gems
Anything that I've wrote you can quote even if you don't like any of them

I swim amongst Olympians to train my brain to erect creative things
Iron sharpens iron and I'm aspiring to do the same in this poetry game
So I don't refrain from writing the things that come across my mind
An authentic, unapologetic gent with a pen is sometimes hard to find
