Clashing Dreams

I trust your night was great.
Hope your day mimics the
same.
I dreamt of you but to my
dismay,
I woke without you or your
name.
No flashing blue, no scent to
claim.
Inside my dreams, I'm your
shame.
No texting, no touching, heart
aflame.
Is the dream a truth? Is this a
game?
Enjoyed every moment my heart
strained.
For your love I wish mine to
claim.
It has turned to be my greatest
bane.
My heart burns driving mind
insane.
It knots my soul and rots my
brain.
My dreams scar, maul and
maim.
Just a dream go about your
day.
Forget about me, the ghost I
became.
I stand and cleanse under black
rain.
A new day dawns, it's light as my
cane.
Crippled and broken my walk is
lame.
Each new dawn a chance to
reclaim.
At text distance we write and
proclaim,
The silence is deafening but please
stay.
Tangled feelings each morning
sways.
What to do in absolute
disdain?
Each day anew and my heart
remains
Beating strongly as it goes
unclaimed.
