Overnight
Catch the sonnet from the whispering trees
And after the sunset, the moonrise sings
Of love and loss, and faerytales and things
To make your heart weep with words such as these.
Listen in the night for starlight’s quiet tune
And dancing patterns across heaven’s eyes
Where angels look down from the sparkling skies
The sleeping earth glowing under soft moon.
See the Lady Moon beginning to set
She finds her bed of starry silken beams
The Sun he awakens from shining dreams
His rays kissing the grass dewy and wet.
