Eddible Sleep

Edd Donahue, a montague, took sleeping capulets
Poor bordello mushrooms wear off white silhouettes

A fountainhead whose street cred couldn’t shave the grain
Devoured yawns while mowing lawns hedged slippers round his brain

Eddible sleep took to the streets, a pillow down his throat
Kicked out the chair beneath him, a noose’s got your goat

Proposing to a shadow of a doubt of certainty
Replaced her in the forest of as far away from he

To meet her at the fire, the crowd as his disguise
Would melt away his courage; make margarine of his eyes

Yet now with juices flowing, he writes down hollow words
To find his rest amongst a branch, a caramellated bird
