POETRY AND NOBILITY
Poetry, are you a stupid voice
for a kind of love that men despise,
or the glory of the men who killed
lots of men for silly doubt in mind ?

Are you flowers that cast off their smell
though they flourish on a marsh of dirt?
Or a bird that sings a lovely tune
to enchant the happy and the strong ?

Are you just like that who sings to please
those who throw him pieces of carved bones?
Or are you a means that noble men
sing to know the world and make it known ?

Poetry, you are the hope for men
who endure the hardship of this world .
You aspire for what can give sense
or a target that makes life worthwhile.
