THE STUPID AND THE WISE
Your heaven is the joy you live from now.
You live with perfect love and boundless joy
you can read in a notion from good rhyme
or action by a man you meet by chance.

Your heaven is the good heart that you have
which is the bliss of God, so full of love.
That love takes you to places few can reach
as people of this world have the wrong wish.

They wait for respect or a word of praise
to spread their feathers like peacocks when pleased.
That is the heaven of the stupid cock.
Perhaps it is expressed to jibe or mock.

The heaven of wise men, the endless sky,
that hides under a scene that reveals life,
might be great delight seen when a child eats
or joy when a babe sees his mother near.
