Something Is Wrong With Me

I shouldn't feel like this
To have this feeling like something is amiss
Surrounded by people who love me
How in the hell am I lonely?

It's like walking through a dream
And everything around me is a scene
Carefully set, just waiting for curtain call
When the actors melt away behind the wall

I shouldn't feel like this
To have such melancholy in my chest
Laughter echos through this room
So why can't I see through the gloom?

It's as if a part of me is in mourning
And it comes without a warning
I'm smiling, joking.....
Then I find myself sinking, choking
