Not a Penny

I stand naked before thee
To present my shame
Beguiled by the serpent
I shall not name
Oh what tragedy
My actions have brought
I ask for the grace
Which cannot be bought
for
Gold and Silver
Is the desire of many
But
Salvation
Will cost
Not even a penny

Author's Note
When you read my poems do not take everything perfectly literal. Standing naked before the Lord for example is not meant to be lewd. There is actually nothing dirty about a naked human body, it's God's creation. The only thing that makes it dirty, is our perspective. Standing naked could not only mean that I stand with no clothes on. It can also mean that I come before the Lord with nothing to hide. Our souls are constantly naked before God anyway for he is all knowing.
