Bridge of Rope

I went on a journey to save my soul

For my life of sin had taken it's toll

Over mountains and through thick woods

I came upon a bridge of rope

Stretching over the valley of darkness

It would test my faith and hope

The wind howled, the thunder roared

As the bridge swayed to and fro

I could hear the demons Laughing

And taunting me from below

My sin was heavy

My guilt was strong

Hope began to fade

So on my knees I prayed to thee

To give me strength and courage

As rain fell down upon me

And I thought my end was near

I heard the voice of Jesus

He told me not to fear

He said my son

My work is done

I bore the cross

The battle is won

So I bowed my head

I began to pray

I had found salvation

That faithful day

Author's Note
Hitting rock bottom can either change a person or destroy them. My rock bottom was a homeless shelter and taking sleeping pills for lunch so I did not have to face my day. I am on a housing voucher now and fighting my way back into life.
