The Devious Mind

crafty in all of his ways
deceptive thoughts come forth
from the devious mind
of he who slithers along the earth
going to and fro

deceptive thoughts run rapid
through the minds
of those who walk the earth

some choose to become crafty
and their ways are rewarded
after turning toward the deceptive thoughts
of he whose mind deceives

their purse is filled
and receive all the desires of their flesh
every pleasure conceived is experienced
night after night

deceptive thoughts cry out
oh the beauty of pleasure
never will it leave you
never will it forsake you
its beauty shall remain
night after night
for the sun shall never rise above
and the beauty of pleasure
shall always satisfy

but the deceptive ways of the devious mind are brought to light
as the morning sun peaks its head
over the night sky
bringing night to day

the purse of the crafty
are found to be empty
and the desires of their flesh are withheld

the beauty of pleasure
steps into the light of day
and signs of decay become evident
as the sun rises above
the beauty of pleasure
loses its satisfaction
never to be regained

as the light of day turns its back
the darkness of night takes its place
and the greatest fears run rapid
through the minds
of those who chose to listen
to the devious mind
for they shall never see
the light of day again
they shall forever lay in darkness
greater than the darkest night
