Trickle Slowly
Trickle slowly. Trickle deep.
The blood will soon trickle down to my feet.
A rush of calmness when the pain is felt
On the outside as well as in.
For that brief moment of security
that you are in control.
Control of your life and no one can come in and hurt.
Longer sleeves to hide the scars. Scars and tracks,
that will show them how.
Numbness and calmness wears away and you hurt again.
A cry for help but no one knows.
Would it be easier to end this painful life
or just become a hollow shell.
No one knows the pain inside because all you do is continue to smile.
As they peer on that final day; what will they say.
I had no idea she was in so much pain. If we would have known
then we would not have acted this way.
But she showed you through her eyes if you would have just looked inside.
