the queen and the madman
the madman knew
the queen in disguise
for he saw her
in all her glory
shining and unhindered
despite her wisdom
which meant the world
was blind
she had obscured her
self
well from the so called
sane and the seeing
but a madman is neither sane
nor blind
and you can't fool
the mad ones
she was found
he adored her
like a queen should be
he told her
the world is fucked
and long dead
to me
for it cannot see
her ageless, timeless
matchless
beauty
he grabbed
an hourglass
kissed it and said
time
dear mate
you are not
my enemy
despite the fact
you're not there
for me
[anymore]
handed the queen
the hourglass
he had to go
his time indeed
had come to pass
as nothing but
a madman
a passerby
he was
