Charred
The moon shines overhead.
Feet pound at the pavement.
The boy pants as his exhaustion catches up with him.
His wild eyes scan the world around him.
His eyes widen further as he spots the thing he has been running from.
It approached quick yet silently.
It's face seeming to have melted, dripping onto the cement below.
The bones beneath beginning to peak through.
Mouth gaping, teeth rotting and a foul stench with each breath.
The boy screams, knowing it is likely his only chance.
The monstrous creature reached a black, charred hand towards him.
The boy watched, feeling as if the world has slowed yet the hand was impossible to avoid.
It latched upon his throat.
Squeezing, forcing him to gasp and struggle.
What was left of its lips curled into hideous grin.
The skin which it's hand wrapped around began to smoke.
The boys face turned purple and his struggling intensified.
Burning pain like no other seeming to melt his throat.
