you know
there was a time
when a person could change the world
it’s not that way
not anymore
they say my thoughts are petty
too old to act immature
been lost in the disconnect
I just can’t relate like before
well, to the ones that say
I should just give up the fight
if all you do is play dead
then one day
I say
you’ll be eaten alive
so fuck ah girl
if you ain’t my wife
fuck the world
that holds me down
I can only count on one
i’ve only ever had one
if it wasn’t for that one
i’d be dead and gone
poetry became a light
once bright and showing
now it’s dim and dying
friends I used to have
ran so far away
loyalty is hard to come by
got me realizing
it was all pretend
just a puppet was correct
i’m not even lying
when I say I have one
I only have one
the one who stood by me
when I was crying
when I was bleeding
lost and giving up
she picked me right off the floor
that’s why I say
fuck ah girl
