You Don't Know Me
How can you say you know me when all you see if what I choose to show
The person you see isn't real, I’m merely a figment of your imagination if you will
Who I really am is behind locked doors, under covers, hidden beneath pillows.
I say I trust you but someone controlled by rules can become a great liar.
I wish to trust you with who I am, to show you what's underneath my skin
But I tell you something, and then you go and tell him.
So can you really be angry with me when I close my door and cover my windows?
I only locked you out because you carried a weapon, a weapon that hides in your mouth and under your tongue that you could rapidly fire at any given moment. How else could I have protected myself against one that always wins?
