Gone The Light

I watched in darkness a proud star fell
It shed no tears nor shared its fears
If indeed it had any to bare
Transfixed i stood and could not stare
As time seemed to slow and slow seemed its fate
Until finally gone and just a paling haze trail
its epitaph to belate
And now
All pitch
An ever black
I wait...
and hope
Maybe soon
The stars will come back
...........
but i know they will not
