Image for the poem I sent it the sun but it landed on the Moon

I sent it the sun but it landed on the Moon

I sent it to the sun but it landed on the Moon
I was looking for comfort from the sun but only found the cold and dark side of the Moon
I sent it to the sun but it landed on the Moon
There was no honey but only just thorns on the other side of the Moon
I shoot it to your heart but it fell right next to it
It fell to the spot where you keep things you don't need
It fell to the spot where insignificant things live on you
I poured my heart out writing it to you
But it was just words and careless whispers that never made it to you
Everything I seem to do
Somehow never make it through
So I wrapped up in a bolt of lightning
Hoping it will find the sun shining
Maybe I lost my aim
Maybe the Stars and the clouds distracted me just the same
All I can tell is, it never found it's way
I sent it to your heart but it fell right next to it
I hope one day you see it and pick it up
Or maybe you jump in front of it and meet it with love
Grasp it with both hands and never let it go
Then bring me summer rain as a sign it found it's way home
All I can do now is to home
But deep inside I know I'm just denying the fact that
I sent it to the sun but it landed on the Moon
