Chickadee
Hello little Chickadee;
I hear you singing beautifully
So early in the morning
As the sun is gently warming
All the flowers in my garden.
- If I disturb you - Beg your pardon.
I really love to sit and watch
You while you flit around to catch
A wriggly worm, a drop of dew,
A Lady Bug of freckled hue,
Or snatch a careless juicy fly
Or tiny bee that's buzzing by.
Then, when I lay me down to sleep,
Before I enter slumber deep,
I wait for one thing, best of all,
The calming when I hear your call.
No bob-white, nor whip-poor-will for me.
But, simply beautiful
