The Ignited Breath

Anger
is a tool of defense against emotion-
The easy response to questions and first time confusions.
Things get broken because the answers are not known. The frustration can be that intolerable.

Everything is in constant flux, so each time it seems that life has become simple,
the puzzle shatters,
the strategy fails,
the composition decomposes.

Anger reveals itself in violence,
the natural result of immature, undeveloped psyches that take eyes for eyes,
teeth for teeth
and that trade blows with bloody fists when words would suffice.

An angry person
lives in chains, bound by anger to a mountain of repetitive violence,
bloody knuckles, and horse voices.
The frustration of the struggle to break free tightens the chains-
the harder the fight, the tighter they get.

Put the angry person to sleep,
and the chains fall off by themselves.
Resistance is counter-productive,
placid wisdom is the skeleton key.
Harder than the fighting is the refusal to be bound by anger and to master yourself.

Be a dragon!
Be a sleeping dragon and control the nature of your being.
Resist the temptation to violence and focus negativity into peace.
Study the ways of the most distant in time and space
and learn the lessons of vastnesss-
distance becomes non-existent, a state of mind removed by willing acceptance.

Search,
and the answers will come.
Stand,
and the answers fly away.
Do both,
and the answer is at hand.

Internalize the ignited breath of the sleeping dragon.
