A Broken Whole
We were once a whole
Each a small part
Of what beauty we made
Before we fell apart
You pushed and you pulled
You tore at my heart
I was too weak to hold on
To the thing we did start
A miracle destroyed
No longer a work of art
Our us was now gone
Along with everything we had to hold on
We would never let go
But we would go on
The promise we made
Now so much has gone
If I were to know what pain you would bring
I never would have lied that cool night that spring
The ice you call a heart
Has since then Hell frozen over
I now have no one to hold,
Nothing like a lover.
