He met with his Darkness

He sat in a dark room
Contemplating his darkness
His failures came over for a visit
His pain gave him a massage
And his chest opened way for hurt

He sat in a dark room
Contemplating his darkness
Because it was no apparant to him
That he has become a dark soul
He would wake up each day
With dark thoughts in his mind
He would look at the sky
and all he would see was grey
Even though he kept a brave face
Even though his smile
would light up the room
His eyes were full of darkness

He never noticed time passing by
Because It felt like
he was sitting in that dark room for a day
But didn't realise that
it had now become a daily routine
that even months later
his pain was still a fresh wound

So he sat in a dark room
Contemplating his darkness
And realised that
he was now a dark soul
He lived in the darkness of night
Intoxicated and unleasted
He grew wilder by the day
And avoided all the things
that brought light to his soul
His dark room was replaced
by a dark world
He grew less empathetic
He saw the pain in others
And never thought of giving a hand
He made a home in the darkness
Feeling sober only in toxic states

He became what he hated most
But loved every second of it
His Light Grew weaker
It almost became foreign to him
And soon his failures
would deal another blow to him,
one that would break him down
even more than what
he had experienced already

To which he would return
to his dark room
Contemplating his darkness
Because now his darkness
had almost completely taken over
He was alone
He felt like the ultimate failure
And He was a dark soul.

The darkness was so cold
It was misty with memories
He only had a single glimer of light
left inside of him
He wallowed and let his eyes
wonder about the darm room
He then noticed something
His room had a mirror,
he forgot he had one because
he was too afraid to face himself
His curiousity got the better of him
So He stood up walked over to it
and saw a sight he would never forget
He saw a dark figure
He saw a semblance in the mirror
He saw someone with a dark soul
To which he became shocked

He was shocked with what he saw because he couldn't recognize
the person he was seeing
He saw the shadow of
the person he used to be
and he didn't like what he saw
because in that moment
He met with his darkness

Not being able to take it any longer
He walked over to a switch
And switched on the light
Now He sat in a room full of light
Realizing that there is a lot to address
There is a lot of pain to conquer
A lot of failures to redeem himself from
And most of all a lot of light to bring back to his soul.
For In that moment
he knew that the work had just begun.
