The Slumber of Moon

Let the moon sleep awhile,
Let the moon sleep awhile, while the stars waltz by,
Let the moon sleep awhile, while the wolves howl,
Let the moon sleep awhile, while night consumes the world.

Through the nightfall and the dawn, let the moon sleep awhile
The lonely streets whisper sad songs, let the moon sleep awhile
The blind and poets drunk in loneliness, let the moon sleep awhile
When the first light ignites the world, let the moon sleep awhile

The clouds merge with the stars, once the world births anew,
The pillars of our extinction, the last day for humanity,
The decadents of the memories, held fragile, beneath the three pounds,
Like a veil, like a lover howling for lost love,
We’re all lost in the gigantic ocean of void,
Let the world usher in a fading bliss,
Let the moon fade in amber twilight,

Let the moon sleep awhile,
Let the moon sleep awhile, while the rain falls under,
Let the moon sleep awhile, while the dusk slips by,
Let the moon sleep awhile, while the darkness shines.
