Something We Can No Longer See
The words that are painted on your lips.
I am so sorry… like somehow they are
Supposed to say something. An eclipse
And it is like every romance or star
Has gone to die for good. Forgive me for
Not being the one you wanted forever. I
Know that every once and a while a door
Was meant to be closed. A rose would die
That night like the sun without the rain
Or the moon without the stars. Forgive me,
But I cannot forgive you for leaving a stain
Where we were joined. I can no longer see.

Know that every once and a while a door
