Fate Was Not What We Expected

I miss you Mr Buttercup Man
butter up and catch me if you can
our dreams spun webs
in the corners of our souls
dried up and tossed out and left at the door
the crying wind drums in our ears
as we stalk and chase the ice cream van
it echoes far out far out to sea
the birds eye boat anchored with sea weed
a traitor pines for the lives he took
we send a menace with a fine right hook
the nightmare's rafter falls from grace
and all the world is in its place.
