Image for the poem Sleeper

Sleeper

Soft blue
glow,
pallid,
lay me to
sleep. Sun-
rise a
distant
memory.
Back of my
head
spinning, front
dreaming
of
castles. I was
never
good at keeping
time, like
sand through
open fingers - the
hourglass
kind - veiled under
blankets, chasing
winter
far away.
