Raindrops on the burn victims: this world takes no prisoners only pretenders
I am but a single drop of water
formed from overcast skies grey gratitude
someone disguised as an Angel of light
once whispered in my ear
"you could be the fire
that would burn this world down From its foundations"
we've no self control left to endure
this despondent Love that eats us from the inside out
now we fold into the storm
steak into the butchers belly
just to prove our self worth
who gets to decide which way is up
no longer dropping by as friends
but with fire
formed from overcast skies grey gratitude
someone disguised as an Angel of light
once whispered in my ear
"you could be the fire
that would burn this world down From its foundations"
we've no self control left to endure
this despondent Love that eats us from the inside out
now we fold into the storm
steak into the butchers belly
just to prove our self worth
who gets to decide which way is up
no longer dropping by as friends
but with fire
