vaulting
you could have shot this white-crowned sparrow
setting out of the burning nightfall sky
on the bending Chena rivers radiance
firmament drew rising flames
tranquil white spruce
spoke dialects of frost to one another
clouds claimed sanctuary
churning along stippling paradise pastels
parting only for the howling white wolf moon
where fog tried to fight back the daybreak
haze hung like a guilty man
over the ridges and valleys vanquished trails
falling overthrown Titans bodies formed mountain ranges
melt hazard sign slick hearts
winter solstice sicked the dogs on Anchorage
knowing i could finally be at peace
monsters consumed the demon i'd become
