My Shiny Little Piece of Metal
I slowly reach towards
My little glimmer of hope
Light hits the metal
Shining blinding light
Why not?
Nothing else can help me
Maybe if someone
Would listen for a change
Then - maybe - things could be different
The sky's eyes
Threaten tears
Once they start,
It's almost impossible to stop
I roll up my sleve
Exposing my perfect, clear skin
When i reach for my glimmer of hope,
I feel it can all go away
Cold metal clashes
With the warmth of my skin,
Then there's the heat
Of the red paint
Spilling on a pure white canvas
Red tears leak
from the mark the metal made
I feel relief, not pain
This is who i am
A sad, damaged soul
Would you please
Pray for the souls
Who find relief
Within the blade?
My little glimmer of hope
Light hits the metal
Shining blinding light
Why not?
Nothing else can help me
Maybe if someone
Would listen for a change
Then - maybe - things could be different
The sky's eyes
Threaten tears
Once they start,
It's almost impossible to stop
I roll up my sleve
Exposing my perfect, clear skin
When i reach for my glimmer of hope,
I feel it can all go away
Cold metal clashes
With the warmth of my skin,
Then there's the heat
Of the red paint
Spilling on a pure white canvas
Red tears leak
from the mark the metal made
I feel relief, not pain
This is who i am
A sad, damaged soul
Would you please
Pray for the souls
Who find relief
Within the blade?
