I know why the broken ones sing
Their cast away,
like their freaks.
Locked away in society's prison,
Treated as inferior beings...
...when in fact they are Superior,
Their minds are stronger as some sing
there's always tomorrow.
But their are other prisoners with them,
that sing tomorrow is just a lie.
They look to the light of their prison,
and say "One day I shall be warmed by the sun"
Their arms weary from the chains,
that keeps them in their prison.
The darkness is what makes them cold,
Their hope is what keeps them warm.
However there are others,
not warmed by hope but hate
of the people who locked them here...
Will both sides of the broken,
ever be allowed to be free...
...of society's prison?
I now know why the broken ones sing...
like their freaks.
