Flourishing
I was like a flower
I couldn't bloom,
With all the weeds in the way
There was no room.
But then you came along,
You tore out the weeds.
I began to bloom,
I was set free.
But then you left me
You left for them, saying they needed help.
I waiting for you to come back
I let out a yelp.
But you never came back,
I was stranded, left alone.
The weeds grew back
And crushed by a stone
Because of you, I'm dying
From lack of water
Because of you I'm crying
Trying to survive, not to be slaughtered
You said you would help me.
You said you'll always be my friend.
But here I am,
At my very end.
I hope someone else,
More caring and nourishing,
Will come and help me
So I can begin flourishing.
I couldn't bloom,
With all the weeds in the way
There was no room.
But then you came along,
You tore out the weeds.
I began to bloom,
I was set free.
But then you left me
You left for them, saying they needed help.
I waiting for you to come back
I let out a yelp.
But you never came back,
I was stranded, left alone.
The weeds grew back
And crushed by a stone
Because of you, I'm dying
From lack of water
Because of you I'm crying
Trying to survive, not to be slaughtered
You said you would help me.
You said you'll always be my friend.
But here I am,
At my very end.
I hope someone else,
More caring and nourishing,
Will come and help me
So I can begin flourishing.
