Thrilla In Manila

Traveling down these valleys and up these peaks
Learning how to creatively make my poetry speak
I've come across a lot of folks with fractured souls
Of whom are desperately trying to become whole

Until you get to know someone's story
Your judgement of them is prematurely
Before attempting to focus on their closet full of bones
It's best to remember all the bodies rotting in your own

We've all got our hidden battles that many are unaware of
That's why it's so important that we show each other love
The person right next to you may fool you by telling you that they're alright
But if you take a bit of extra time you'll find out that they are hurting inside

Pride will make many not want to admit to this fact
So we all need to genuinely have each other's back
They say that cardiac arrest is known as the silent killer
Well mental health issues are similar to the Thrilla In Manila

It's one of those things that is invisible to the naked eye
And you can't fathom why someone would want to die
They're so psychologically damaged that they can't manage to see the light
They've become so overwhelmed with life that they no longer want to fight
