Hope Chest

Hope Chest

Drops of sunshine fill my eyes
New love comes, such a surprise
Rays of happiness, warms my bones
Bolts of light strike my heart

To be together, not alone
Two pumping hearts, one pulsing beat
I can see the flowers in bloom
Once again, my hope chest is full

No longer does my love lie in a tomb
With this treasure, I renew my will
Life can be so tragic, love has won
No more sad songs being played

I feel like I'm basking in the sun
The shadows in my mind, begin to fade
The moonlight calms the tide in my chest
My insecurities suddenly, lifted

Now I can lay my dying heart to rest
All my emotions have been sifted
Invisible walls torn down
The shades over my eyes are gone

My lacy gaze is shifted
To a twilight night looming
For my heart, now is soothing
To a rhythm of twinkling stars

Placed their for my eyes only
You've allowed me to break down the bars
I've been enslaved in, no life sentence
Now I am no longer lonely
