I'm very rarely impacted
Not many people leave a mark on me
Not many people care how I feel
Or really listen when I speak
But you did...
And you dug deep to figure me out
And the things I thought were so subtle
Were obvious when they came out your mouth
And I didn't understand it
I still don't and it bothers me
Not many people get close enough to reach me
But you swooped in and you got to me
And you got inside my head
When I didn't think that anyone could
I thought the curse that I was born with
Was being forever misunderstood
When you spoke, you made it simple
Things were logical, they were clear
And maybe I was caught up in the moment
But I wanted to draw you near
I wanted to place my lips on yours
I wanted you to hold me close
But that's another thought that I might bury
Another thought that the world won't ever know
You left me wondering..
Wondering about myself, wondering about you
And I'm thankful for that short, one night
And I'm glad that I met you...
