Sands of our glass
I held your hand and we walked the beach
We sat on a wooden pier
The laughter was a bandaid to my years
Thinking I was happy just to be here
Sunset tilted the earth
Tipping the day adieu
Waves pushing water and sand over our feet
What a wonderful walk with you
Endless I wanted that moment to be
I did receive my gift
I have not forgotten that day
I saved it for times like this
Months have come
Days seem to pass
I shall toast to the good times
Pour the sands from our glass
Drunk from the nights
Hungover from the days
Taking something for the memories
Still, they won't go away
Its going to take time
Sifting like sands through my hands
I can't help but watch it pass through
Trying to understand
Ocean waves, nights and days
The tide that came and went so fast
Seemed like it was sweet wine
Sands of our glass
We sat on a wooden pier
The laughter was a bandaid to my years
Thinking I was happy just to be here
Sunset tilted the earth
Tipping the day adieu
Waves pushing water and sand over our feet
What a wonderful walk with you
Endless I wanted that moment to be
I did receive my gift
I have not forgotten that day
I saved it for times like this
Months have come
Days seem to pass
I shall toast to the good times
Pour the sands from our glass
Drunk from the nights
Hungover from the days
Taking something for the memories
Still, they won't go away
Its going to take time
Sifting like sands through my hands
I can't help but watch it pass through
Trying to understand
Ocean waves, nights and days
The tide that came and went so fast
Seemed like it was sweet wine
Sands of our glass
