I Remember the Moon
I remember that harvest moon
Sitting right above the water
Your arms wrapt around me
As my throat grew hotter
Its absolutely beautiful
I mentioned to you
You quickly agreed
But your eyes weren't on the moon
I remember that log
Laying out into the water
I waited what seemed like forever
As the weather grew hotter
You weren't so sure
The first time stepping out to the roots
But you held my hand tight
And dancing began our boots
I remember the sand
Still wet from the water
I watched our footprints dry
As the sand grew hotter
I drew our names
I don't know how many times
Hoping you would see
And add the old rhymes
I remember the last time
On that log by the waters shoulder
I sighed in realization
As your spot grew colder.
Sitting right above the water
Your arms wrapt around me
As my throat grew hotter
Its absolutely beautiful
I mentioned to you
You quickly agreed
But your eyes weren't on the moon
I remember that log
Laying out into the water
I waited what seemed like forever
As the weather grew hotter
You weren't so sure
The first time stepping out to the roots
But you held my hand tight
And dancing began our boots
I remember the sand
Still wet from the water
I watched our footprints dry
As the sand grew hotter
I drew our names
I don't know how many times
Hoping you would see
And add the old rhymes
I remember the last time
On that log by the waters shoulder
I sighed in realization
As your spot grew colder.
