Once Again

Strain rips at muscle and bone
Severed scars scattered on worn skin
Red-blue eyes looking back towards steps taken
Tracing every cavity of misplaced pressure
Trips and falls littered crystal water's sand
Prints of hands and body and blood
The imperfect path stretching to infinity
Before me, a shadow with shape
Contours of familiar need and new passion
I trip again, turning towards the misty morning
Reaching for the hand that reaches for mine
Bringing me back to the human experience
Wrapped in futures happily dreamed
Praying that I'll be caught until I fall eternally
