It Does Not Feel Like August Anymore
We've been doing this thing
where we lay around and talk about anything and everything
that matters and doesn't matter
In the darkness of your bedroom and the brightness of mine;
Sometimes a record is on-
Sometimes you're playing a song you're too awkward to sing at full volume;
Sometimes were unbelievably happy-
And sometimes we are not;
And maybe this doesn't really matter
Maybe you will die before 30 like you told me the other night when I tried being honest about my fears
And maybe I won't
(Who knows?)
But I can't stop thinking
About how comforting your touch is
Even though we know better
It does not feel like August
Anymore

It does not feel like August
Anymore
