Travesty

I'm madly in love with a version of you that used to exist.
You leave my heart brusied, blackened and blued, with violent twists.
I dream of things that make me scream
out of sheer denial,
like sometimes being good enough to be worth your while;
but then I wake and morning takes all the ground I earn,
I go to you, with love most true, but I never learn.

Travesty, tragedy, trouble me no more,
I can't see that I will see my vision restored.
Being teased, by you, with ease,
Then being ignored;
optical anamolies always leave me floored.

Even though my dreams of woe always curse my being,
some, of you, must be true, or else they'd be leaving.
I think I'm so perfect for you, I could have none else,
and since you're perfect for no one, that leaves me in Hell.
The trouble is I've given up on trying to forget you,
but living with your memories is making me regret you.

Travesty, tragedy, trouble me no more,
I can't see that I will see my vision restored.
Being teased, by you, with ease,
until you get bored;
optical anamolies always leave me floored.
