Blameworthy Bourgeoisie
Tow ropes lug our lagging hopes,
Sagging slack
Wound 'round our backs
Stymieing our means to cope
We've all voted on their placement though
Hawks perch on worn wires
Overseers in ivory spires
We're awash in leading liars
Our pretty parts, castaway
Picked over by birds of prey
We engage mice minds
Scurrying for shelter
To stash such sorry lives
Surviving though deliberately blind
Scrimping limp scraps to line our holes...
Visionless vagrants on pointless placating patrols

i love it.
i dig those ivory spires, even though those elephants may not agree where you took it's momma for the day spa lol.

Picked over by birds of prey" -this third stanza is threatening ,and alluring like a siren. my bones are coming clean as we speak.
"mice minds" - i'm going to order flowers for algenon now.

i've say the movie "Charly" that was based off it, but the book is on my "to read" list for the future.
i remember watching it when i was around 12 or 13 years old maybe and really liked it.
the idea of going from nothing almost to comprehending everything,then reverting back to nothing.
i've read the author Daniel Keyes take/background and what inspired him to write it and found it very enriching.he was actually a special education teacher.
it's stuck with me over the years needless to say.
i remember watching it when i was around 12 or 13 years old maybe and really liked it.
the idea of going from nothing almost to comprehending everything,then reverting back to nothing.
