It Doesn't Matter to Me
There are those that would name you a Goddess,
a storm of thunder and lightning and howling winds,
Who would lay their hearts at your alter,
to feel the breadth of your lecherous passions.
To me, it matters not the throes we shared in bed,
or the orgasmic pleasures we gave each other,
It doesn't matter the lusts we fulfilled,
or if we were still virgin to each other's bodies.
Your heart, your soul, your being is what I look for,
and care for in my affections unto you,
Though your breasts are inviting like a feast,
Let me through to the heart that lies between.
I have loved before, given everything to love,
a broken heart is what remained from my quest,
I have nothing to give you but my shards, sharp,
and I know I can't be what you want or need.
But to me, it matters not, how broken I am or
how it won't work out from circumstances that can't change,
For I choose to love you the same, in this life,
no matter how I wish we were in a different life.
