I Loved Once Upon A Tide

I loved once, I allowed another to plant their roots among my soil. Allowed limbs and souls, breath to entangle into one form.
Blinded my eyes to others to see only us, lost myself in the warm of his arms and the assurance in his voice.
I loved once, I allowed my mind to be consumed by the wonder that was his knowledge.
I fell from my feet to be caught in his chest. We were one beat, we were one.
I loved once, I allowed him be my reason to rise the sun. I gave my all and so did he.
Sighs...how cold to know love can only come once and still allow it drift away.
How the tears they fell as I watched...as he watched as we were pulled to opposite directions to float away from each other on opposite sides of the tides.
