O' Dearest Of Mine
O’ dearest of mine, I remember when we shared that wonderful time
dancing and singing to all those who would listen
Your voice as soft and beautiful as springtime
I remember the time when we slept together in the grass
My arms around you, never wanting to let go
O’ dearest of mine, that was a time when i let our problems
Simply..bypass.
I remember when I stood before you asking, no begging
For you to move forward, not back.
Yet you simply ignored my wishes
Continuing on your dark track.
You said you could do it yourself
That you didn't need me to help
You thought you could take on that in which was haunting you
Without myself.
O’ dearest of mine, I knew you were lying
Yet I did nothing, even when I found you crying.
I remember the last drink we shared, a glass of red wine
The fake laughs you forced, the fake smile was the worst
I can’t believe I tried to act like you were fine.
O’ dearest of mine, you have left me now alone
Leaving me only memories and tears as I talk to you now
Standing over your headstone.
