"Can't live like this anymore" (Chris Cornell Tribute)
Take my rage
from my heart,
tear my whole
damn world apart.
Put it back,
glue the ends
can you
make me
human again?
Gangrene seeps
in these veins
how I crave
my sober days,
I was clean,
never dreamed
I would kill
myself this way.
Hidden face
can't be seen,
scare the kids
with greenish skin,
heavy lids
can't shield
the pain
from the
enemy within.
Jaundice gaunt
haunting streets,
woke the dragon
from his sleep,
clock hands
never rewind
for those
who waste
the sands of time.
It's too late
who can save
one who prays
with blood-stained hands?
Seek a priest
or a friend
to confess my evil sins.
Pain will cease
when I'm dead
have to fix
my head til then,
black and worn,
torn with fears,
eyes are
bleeding
morphine tears.
I give up,
made a plan;
meet my
maker,
shake his hand,
Tell him thanks
for the chance
but I can't
ride this
horse
anymore... . . . . . . .
( The Soundgarden song, "Black Hole Sun" inspired this poem, which was written to the same tempo of that song - excluding the chorus )
