the Leviathan (re-write)
shall my eyes ever bare witness, upon the mighty form of god
of the dragon from the sea
hold fast my heart and cower to silence all sin within me
least he smell my mortality
his sights fixed upon us, these tiny souls at sea
his eyes of emerald sun, will laugh, turn in glee
his mouth will open with no teeth to be seen
to far, to wide
his snout to the sky and jaw to the deep
only the stench of rotten death
the abyss of rolling night
the screams from times long past
will be the winds
that drag us down to hell
pray his maw to close once more, for harmless he will be
smug with his victory
that stole the breath and the soul from flesh
of the damned lost at sea
whose only fatal flaw
to be the meal, for a beast
of the dragon from the sea
hold fast my heart and cower to silence all sin within me
least he smell my mortality
his sights fixed upon us, these tiny souls at sea
his eyes of emerald sun, will laugh, turn in glee
his mouth will open with no teeth to be seen
to far, to wide
his snout to the sky and jaw to the deep
only the stench of rotten death
the abyss of rolling night
the screams from times long past
will be the winds
that drag us down to hell
pray his maw to close once more, for harmless he will be
smug with his victory
that stole the breath and the soul from flesh
of the damned lost at sea
whose only fatal flaw
to be the meal, for a beast
