Thunder on the Mountain
rain shattered the dark silence
pelting on her
she loves the rain
the sound, the feel
a sense of cleansing
the soul
on top of the mountain,
a beautiful slab of stone
she lay down upon the coolness of it
letting the rain run in rivulets
across her body,
she closed her eyes,
she no longer felt the stone
beneath her,
just the sounds of rain
echoing on the mountains
the wind gathering her hair
and clothing,
the edge so close,
she waited, waited for the thunder
she was sure would come
pelting on her
she loves the rain
the sound, the feel
a sense of cleansing
the soul
on top of the mountain,
a beautiful slab of stone
she lay down upon the coolness of it
letting the rain run in rivulets
across her body,
she closed her eyes,
she no longer felt the stone
beneath her,
just the sounds of rain
echoing on the mountains
the wind gathering her hair
and clothing,
the edge so close,
she waited, waited for the thunder
she was sure would come
