Asking For It

I wish I could put all of my feelings
Into a jar and show them to you,
But that would be asking for
Too much. I wish I could count all
Of the stars with you, but
You are too far away.
Although we are breathing
The same breaths and seeing
The same sky, we are miles
Apart. That is what is killing
The both of us on the inside.
I wish I could see into your
Mind and into the future so
I know where we stand,
But that would be considered
Hopeless. I wish we could
Dance again and have my
Head against your chest,
But that would be like
Asking the world to stop
Just so we can have those
Moments back. We have
To live separate lives and
Experience things on our
Own so we can come back
Stronger together. I wish
That our timing would not
Be so off, but it is like asking
For something that is out
Of our control. I wish I could
Tell you that I love and miss
You every day, but that
Would be considered
Too forward. To say that
I would not be jealous and
Insecure would be a lie.
I am asking for it all.
