Nightmare Plague
Choking...
Gasping for air...
The amount of vomit pouring from my gaping maw would not allow a single breath to be drawn
Asphyxiation was only one of the ominous entities that plagued my night
Whatever I ate at that merry gathering of friends and family stayed briefly to act as the catalyst to my impending doom
I was oblivious to the fact that my last meal would end up shredding my throat into a wad of meaty flesh and tattered tissue
Gory scraps meant for crows
At the sink,
The alter of my demise,
I send forth a torrent of blood as an offering
To my dismay the blood continued
The murk of the vomit was quickly forgotten.
The blood had easily overshadowed the bile,
Triumphantly drenching the puke in a red candy apple hue
My body began to forfeit its right to be called a living thing
My life's essence was drained from me
My body began to waver
The tip of the spear was my family
All around they gathered, laughing at my foolishness
My body became the center of the party
A crude crucifixion
So much blood had been outwardly strewn across the bathroom floor
It was as if the velvet canvas was set for the exhibition of my death
Last breath...
Impending darkness...
The nightmare mocked me by stalling
It snuck a few black frames in at the end to give me the illusion that I was not coming back
As I am embraced by realities cold comfort,
I experience a sense of peace and gratitude towards existence
Life has no beauty without the putrescent presence of death
Gasping for air...
The amount of vomit pouring from my gaping maw would not allow a single breath to be drawn
Asphyxiation was only one of the ominous entities that plagued my night
Whatever I ate at that merry gathering of friends and family stayed briefly to act as the catalyst to my impending doom
