The Light that Saved Me
I was marching down the hot dirt road
and the fire of the sun had burned everything
to death
there was burnt persons
burnt trees
burnt cars
burnt friends and enemies, and tires, scattered sloppy
But when I walked the death path
that should have killed me
the sun changed her light
the sun dimmed her fires
the sun dimmed her heat
and I was given a beacon of light
and warmth
not death
nor defeat
WAS IT THE GODDESS OF DIXIE ?
A SUN WITH MOXIE
THE LIGHT SAVED ME
why for me ?
like a supernatural friend with glee
like a free cup of expensive tea
I was given magic for free
THE GODDESS OF DIXIE ?
A SUN WITH MOXIE
A MAGIC THAT TALKS TO ME
and I made it through the danger path
safe as a bird flying free
magic, jus' for me....
and the fire of the sun had burned everything
to death
there was burnt persons
burnt trees
burnt cars
burnt friends and enemies, and tires, scattered sloppy
But when I walked the death path
that should have killed me
the sun changed her light
the sun dimmed her fires
the sun dimmed her heat
and I was given a beacon of light
and warmth
not death
nor defeat
WAS IT THE GODDESS OF DIXIE ?
A SUN WITH MOXIE
THE LIGHT SAVED ME
why for me ?
like a supernatural friend with glee
like a free cup of expensive tea
I was given magic for free
THE GODDESS OF DIXIE ?
A SUN WITH MOXIE
A MAGIC THAT TALKS TO ME
and I made it through the danger path
safe as a bird flying free
magic, jus' for me....
