The Devil Would Know
I'm afraid of the anger
And the wrath within your heart
Too scared to linger
In the starless dark
Your eyes are pale
And your skin is snow
Your heart isn't for sale
The Devil would know
I strive to see
Through dark waters
Do you see me?
I see your slaughters
Young hearts abandoned
Awake, and alone
They're lost in your canyon
Will they ever find home?
Tell me what you think
Of my persistent stance
I am on the brink
Of learning your dance
So kiss my eyes
And lay me to sleep
I'll forget the lies
When you start to leap
Your canyon is high
The fall is far
Let sleeping dogs lie
And fall from your star
The wrath in your heart
Creates the world's tears
If you fall apart
You'll erase our fears
I'll buy your heart
And keep it close
You can't keep us apart
When the Devil is comatose
But your eyes are pale
And your skin is snow
Your heart isn't for sale
The Devil would know
And the wrath within your heart
Too scared to linger
In the starless dark
Your eyes are pale
And your skin is snow
Your heart isn't for sale
The Devil would know
I strive to see
Through dark waters
Do you see me?
I see your slaughters
Young hearts abandoned
Awake, and alone
They're lost in your canyon
Will they ever find home?
Tell me what you think
Of my persistent stance
I am on the brink
Of learning your dance
So kiss my eyes
And lay me to sleep
I'll forget the lies
When you start to leap
Your canyon is high
The fall is far
Let sleeping dogs lie
And fall from your star
The wrath in your heart
Creates the world's tears
If you fall apart
You'll erase our fears
I'll buy your heart
And keep it close
You can't keep us apart
When the Devil is comatose
But your eyes are pale
And your skin is snow
Your heart isn't for sale
The Devil would know
